ETD Inc. was contracted by Navajo Nation Shopping Centers, Inc. (NNSCI) to manage the archaeological data recovery services for The Outlook at Glittering Mountains project, a proposed regional family entertainment destination adjacent to Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort.
Avoidance of three archaeological sites eligible for the National Register of Historic Places was not possible. Therefore, to mitigate this situation, ETD managed the data recovery effort. The effort involved extraction, analysis, and reporting of all data recovered from the archaeological sites. It followed the methods and procedures outlined in the Cultural Resources Management Plan, approved by the Navajo Nation Heritage & Historic Preservation Department (NNHHPD). The project cleared the way for future development at Twin Arrows.
