The Baahaali Chapter Comprehensive Land Use Plan is a community-driven guide for sustainable growth. Its primary goal is to provide clear guidelines for housing, recreation, public facilities, and economic development. The plan supports Baahaali’s vision for future development, ensuring that growth happens in an organized and balanced way.

Community Engagement

The Land Use Plan was shaped by the input of Baahaali residents. Between November 2016 and October 2017, a Community Values Survey was conducted. This survey allowed residents to share their thoughts on how land should be used in their community. The survey results were crucial in forming goals and strategies related to land use, housing, transportation, and public facilities.

During this process, five presentations were held at Chapter meetings. These meetings helped keep the community informed and encouraged participation. The feedback gathered guided the planning process, ensuring the final plan reflects the community’s vision.

Key Focus Areas

The Land Use Plan addresses several important areas. It outlines goals for housing, making sure there are options that meet the needs of Baahaali’s residents. Economic development is another focus, as the community aims to create opportunities for local businesses and jobs. Transportation improvements are also a key part of the plan, making it easier for residents to move within the community.

Approval and Future Steps

The Navajo Nation Resources and Development Committee approved the Land Use Plan on September 6, 2018. This approval was a major milestone for Baahaali, providing a clear path for future growth. With this plan in place, the community is better prepared to handle development while preserving its values and culture.
